Privacy Policy

Updated November 2, 2026

Compd is a mobile app that identifies a sports card from a photo, shows recent sold prices, and estimates a value. This policy describes the information the app collects and how that information is used.

Account information

You can create an account with an email and password, or with Sign in with Apple. We store your name, email address, and a hashed password when you create one. Sign in with Apple provides the name and email address you choose to share, which may be a private relay address.

When you sign in, we store a session, including the IP address and user agent of the device, so the app can keep you signed in. You can sign out from Settings. Signing out ends the session and does not delete the account.

Card photos and scan results

The camera and photo library are used only when you take or choose a picture of a card. That photo is uploaded to our storage, shown back to you in the app, and sent to an AI model so Compd can read the player, year, manufacturer, set, card number, parallel, and any grade or serial number that is visible.

We store the identification, the comps and price history tied to that scan, and the estimated value, along with the time of the scan. Corrections you make to a misidentified card are stored the same way. Compd does not ask for your location.

Subscriptions

Pro is purchased through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. Compd does not receive your card number. RevenueCat sends us the subscription status for your account, including the product, whether you are in a trial, the store, the billing period, and the original transaction identifier. We use that status to apply the scan allowance on your account.

How we use this information

We use this information to run your account, identify cards, look up sold listings and price history, calculate a value, enforce the scan allowance, and keep the service working. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Services that process it

Card photos are stored in our file storage and database, hosted by Neon. The photo and the card details needed to identify it are sent to an OpenAI model through the Vercel AI Gateway. Identified card details, such as the player, set, and number, are sent to The Card API and eBay to retrieve public sales and listings. Your account is not included in those lookups.

Apple handles Sign in with Apple and App Store payments. RevenueCat handles subscription status. These providers process information only so Compd can provide the feature you used.

How long we keep it

Account details, photos, and scan results stay while your account exists. Email chriscosentino@hotmail.com to ask us to delete your account. Deletion removes the account, its photos, and its scans. We may keep a limited billing record, such as a transaction identifier, where that is needed to reconcile an App Store purchase. Manage or cancel the subscription itself in your App Store account settings.

Children

Compd is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
